A meeting was held with industry, district councils, environmental groups and community groups to discuss views on the issue of mineral safeguarding. Minerals and waste focus groups, September 2010

Minerals and waste focus groups were held in September 2010 to discuss Core Strategy issues consultation in further detail with our consultees. The following meetings took place:

Minerals and waste workshops, May 2010

In May 2010 we held workshops to gather initial ideas on the key issues to address in the Minerals and Waste Core Strategy. Two different workshop groups took place, one for the minerals and waste industry and another for government and environmental stakeholders. The workshops aimed to:

  • introduce the Kent minerals and waste project team
  • explain the new minerals and waste planning timetable
  • provide information on the Core Strategy 'Issues Stage' consultation taking place in the autumn, and
  • inform attendees about our proposals to host regular meetings with key stakeholders.
