Waste Preferred Options consultation
Public consultation - 28 May to 23 July 2012
The
Preferred Options consultation was the second
stage (of a three stage process) in
the preparation of Kent County Council's Waste
Sites Plan.
Previously, in May 2011, all minerals and waste site
proposals received from landowners and industry were
published in two separate Minerals
and Waste Site Options consultation
documents, and later in a further Supplementary Options consultation document.
This consultation set out which of the initial site proposals are
preferred options for waste development and which of the sites
will not be included in the final Waste Sites Plan.
These 'preferred options' are considered to be the best and most
sustainable sites to meet waste
management requirements in Kent up to the end of
2030. There are 21 preferred option sites for waste management. The
remaining sites are identified as ‘non allocated’ sites.
