Minerals & Waste Core Strategy

We are preparing a Minerals and Waste Development Framework to
replace the existing Minerals and Local Plans for the county
council's administrative area.
The key document of the framework is the Minerals and Waste Core
Strategy Development Plan Document.
The Core Strategy will:
- set out the vision and strategy for mineral provision and waste
management in Kent
- contain a number of development management policies for
evaluating minerals and waste planning applications
- consider strategic site provision for all minerals and waste
management facilities, and
- plan to the year 2030.
Key events
The development of the Core Strategy will include community
involvement events where you have the opportunity
to give us your views and help form the final document.
The Core Strategy is likely to go through the following public
consultation stages:
1. Issues
consultation (24 September to 19 November 2010).
2. Strategy and Policy
Directions options consultation (31 May to 09
August 2011).
3. Publication - the draft 'pre-submission'
document - Autumn 2012.
The stages for the development of all minerals and waste
documents are published in our revised Minerals
and Waste Development Scheme.
