Evidence base
Technical reports will be produced to support the preparation of
the revised Minerals and Waste
Development Framework. A credible evidence base is
required to provide the basis for our proposed plans and
policies.
Core Strategy: Strategy and Policy Directions consultation
The evidence base for the previous Issues consultation
was updated and expanded for the Minerals and Waste Core Strategy -
Strategy and Policy Directions
consultation. The consultation ran between 21 May and
09 August 2011, in parallel with the separate Minerals and Waste
Site Options consultations.

Core Strategy: Issues consultation
The Minerals and Waste Core Strategy Issues document and
supporting evidence base was open for consultation between 24
September and 19 November 2010. The main document was a summary the
current evidence base regarding minerals and waste issues in Kent.
The evidence base consisted of 12 technical reports plus two
Sustainability Appraisal documents.

Sustainability Appraisal
Sustainability Appraisal is required to ensure
the Minerals and Waste Development Plan
Documents are environmentally sound and promote
sustainable development.
