Minerals and waste planning in Kent

The County Council, as the minerals and waste planning authority for the Kent County Council authority area, is required to produce a Minerals and Waste Local Plan.

The Local Plan will consist of a collection of minerals and waste documents including key plans and other supporting reports as follows:

• Three spatial planning documents forming the key minerals and waste plans for Kent; we are preparing a main Minerals and Waste Local Plan document (formerly the 'Core Strategy'), Mineral Sites Plan and Waste Sites Plan.
• The Statement of Community Involvement: how we will involve the community in the preparation of our minerals and waste plans.
• The Minerals and Waste Development Scheme: our programme for the preparation of the key minerals and waste planning documents.
• The Annual Monitoring Report: monitoring data on the progress of the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme and, once adopted, the performance of policies within the Minerals and Waste Local Plans.
• An evidence base of studies and reports to support the policies and proposals of minerals and waste plans, to include a Sustainability Appraisal.
• Proposal maps: the Kent mineral and waste plan policies and proposals on an Ordnance Survey base.
