Landscape and heritage
From the white cliffs of Dover in the east to
the flat landscape of Romney Marsh and the rolling hills of the
High Weald, Kent is blessed with some of the most remarkable and
spectacular landscapes in the country. Conserving and
enhancing these landscapes and the history that they contain is a
vital part of the work of Countryside Management Partnerships
(CMPs).
CMPs work includes:
- management of habitats in keeping with local
landscape character
- advice to landowners
- recording and conserving historic features in
sites
- encouraging local communities to value and
understand their landscape
