Household Waste Recycling Centres

Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) are recycling centres managed by Kent County Council that accept a wide variety of materials for reuse, recycling or safe disposal. Items need to be separated and deposited in the appropriate container.

Rules and guidance

• The height barrier is set at 185cm (6ft). The height barrier will only be opened to allow service vehicles in and out of the site and will not be opened for customers. Wheelbarrows and trolleys are provided by Kent County Council on all sites to assist customers with vehicles unable to pass under the barrier.
• Disabled users will be given as much help as possible by site staff.
• Children must remain in the vehicle whilst on site for health and safety.
• A permit will be required for residents wishing to use the Dartford site.
• Pick-up trucks or open backed vehicles are not allowed on site - including those fitted with hard tops.
• The HWRC is only for domestic waste, trade waste is not accepted.
