Minerals and Waste Development Scheme (MWDS)

The Minerals and Waste Development Scheme (MWDS) sets out the programme for the preparation of Minerals and Waste Development Plan Documents (DPDs) over the next few years. It provides the starting point for the community and stakeholders to find out about our current planning policies and the key stages for public involvement.

A revised Minerals and Waste Development Scheme is under consideration and will be submitted to the Government Office for the South East (GOSE) in the near future.

The most recent scheme was adopted in 2006 and is available to view on the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme (MWDS) publication page.

A revised development scheme was submitted to the GOSE in March 2007 but was never adopted because of uncertainties over the future programme for the submitted Minerals Development Plan Documents (DPDs). Following the withdrawal the Minerals DPDs in January 2008, further revision to the Development Scheme was required.

For further information on the withdrawal of the Minerals Development Plan Documents (DPDs), see the Minerals Development Framework (MDF).
