Water matters

We cannot take water for granted or continue to treat it as an unlimited resource. Our attitudes to water must change if we are to avoid a repeat of this summer's drought or previous winters' flooding.

This was one of the key messages coming out of the Kent Water Summit, held in June 2006. We can all help to conserve water.

At the other extreme, flooding, particularly next to rivers and the coast, is a natural process but it can have far reaching effects on local people and property.
