What is ISO 14001?

ISO 14001 is an international management standard for the environment and has been implemented by organisations globally since 1996.

It provides a structured process for making environmental improvements, the rate and extent of which will be determined by the organisation in light of business needs and circumstances.

The key outcomes will be:

  • Reduction of our negative environmental impacts
  • Enhancement of our positive environmental impacts
  • Best use of resources
  • Reduction of pollution to a minimum
  • Compliance with relevant legislation.

The full details of the standard (opens in new window) can be viewed on the International Organization for Standardization website (opens in new window).
