An Eco-School is a school committed to improving its
environment; both inside the school buildings and outside in the
school grounds.
Eco-Schools is an international programme that provides a
structured approach to environmental education, involving pupils,
teachers, parents and governors. Your school can make gradual
improvements to the way it interacts with the environment and
create links to other schools, both locally and globally.
Supporting Kent Schools to become Sustainable Schools
Supporting
Kent Schools to become Sustainable Schools has been developed
to provide information to Kent Schools on where help is available
within Kent County Council. It is arranged to reflect the eight
National Framework for Sustainable Schools doorways.
Kent Schools Action on Climate Change
Kent Schools can find all the information they need to support
them in teaching about the topic of climate change in the
'Kent
Schools Action on Climate Change Pack'. If your school would
like to make the 'Kent Schools Action on Climate Change Pledge'
please email
kent.ecoschools@kent.gov.uk.
Clean Kent School
The Clean Kent Campaign and Kent Eco-Schools Project are helping
schools to take part in a structured programme of activities that
help them create and maintain a litter-free environment. Once a
school has achieved its Bronze Award for Eco-Schools, it can also
apply to be a Clean Kent School (link opens in a new
window). |
