Supporting young people's participation

A number of Lesson Plans have been developed to run alongside the KYCC Elections.  These lessons can be delivered throughout the Academic year to ensure students have an ongoing knowledge of participation opportunities throughout the year.  The lesson plans have been develop for key Stage 4 pupils, however can be easily adapted for other year groups.

What is KYCC?
 
 

 

Particpation lesson plan

 

This lesson concentrates how students can be active citizens and participate with decision making.  Students should gain an understanding of varying levels of participation and the role they have in making decisions.

This interactive lesson explores Democracy within the UK and supports students to develop a clear understanding of the main Political Parties.

Youth Election Process

 

An introductory lesson to politics and how it impacts on everyday life.  Students will gain knowledge and experience of an election process and learn about Kent Youth County Council.

Who has the power?

 

During this lesson students will develop their knowledge of Power and gain an understanding of who holds power within society and how this impacts on their lives.
