2011 Kent Youth County Council Elections

The 2011 Kent Youth County Council (KYCC)
Elections took place from 14-20 November and
was the eleventh year in which countywide elections are
held.
In 2011, the elections were held online for the first time
with over 100 candidates and 7,816 votes cast.
KYCC has become a vital part of Kent's democratic process, with
cabinet members and Kent County Council (KCC) officers regularly
consulting members of KYCC on a wide range of issues, including
education, transport and the environment.
KYCC members also attend events outside of Kent, such as
conferences in Westminster, meetings at the European Parliament in
Brussels and with young people from around Europe.
KYCC works closely with the UK Youth Parliament and British
Youth Council on national issues and attends events across the
country.
