Thanet young people celebrate Duke of Edinburgh's Awards
Parents, friends and local dignitaries joined in the
celebrations at the Winter Gardens in Margate as winners
of Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards received their
certificates. The young people have worked hard for their
awards pursuing a host of activities helping their own
personal development as well as raising money for charity,
expeditions and working in the local community and environment,
Sir Roger Gale, MP, gave the closing address praising the
efforts of all the young people taking part in the Award, together
with their leaders.
David Walker, Chairman of Thanet Award Panel added
his praises, "The Award is challenging and responsible and
is an achievement not to be taken lightly."
