School meals
School meals
Every day more than 50,000 school meals are served in Kent. Many
schools have a contract with a private contractor arranged by Kent
County Council (KCC) to supply meals. View the contractor's page for further information. Other
schools arrange their own meals.
The main objective is to provide an affordable, well-balanced
nutritious meal that encourages
healthy eating.
Within schools that arrange their own meals, the
governing body is responsible for ensuring the service meets
government and KCC standards.
