Kent Test Threshold scores 2011 for children transferring to
secondary school in September 2012
To be automatically assessed suitable for grammar school
in 2011's Kent 11+ process, a child needed to score a total of
360 or more in the tests, with no single
score lower than 119.
A grammar school assessment does not guarantee
that a child will be given a grammar school place. Places at any
grammar school are allocated according to the school's
oversubscription criteria, so the number of children who apply for
a place, and how well they meet the admission criteria will decide
who can be offered a grammar school place on 1 March 2012.
Can I appeal against my child's
assessment?
There is no opportunity to appeal against an assessment, but
parents who are not happy with their child's assessment can still
name a grammar school on their Common Application Form. The school
will have to turn down their application, and they will be offered
a different school on 1 March. (School offer letters will arrive on
2 March). After this date, parents can make an appeal for their
child to be admitted to any school they named on their form but
were not offered. The offer letter will explain how to do
this.
No-one will be able to identify the qualifying scores for those
grammar schools which select by test score until after applications
have been processed and offers made in March.
