We have answered some of the questions we get asked regularly
below. If you have any further questions then call us or make an
enquiry.
Does the centre have transport
facilities?
We can help you to hire a French coach, and there is a site
car you can use in case of emergency
Can we use public transport to access the
centre?
There is no local bus or train service. We can
arrange hired transport.
If we bring a coach from England, can the coach driver
stay on site?
Yes, there is a bedroom available in the house for the driver on
a bed and breakfast basis. They can also have meals with the
group. There is an extra charge for this.
Can we walk to the beach or the town?
It takes about an hour to walk to the beach, and 45 minutes to
walk to the supermarket.
Is there an activity organiser on site?
Group leaders are normally responsible for the
group's activities. The site staff are happy to be
included in language work, for example conversation, question and
answer sessions, cooking demonstrations, and we do have
activity organisers for our packages.
Is there someone resident on site?
Yes, the caretaker is resident at all times, and is on hand for
any practical assistance required. The manager is usually on site
during the day, and can always be reached by mobile phone
in an emergency.
Is there a first aider on site?
Yes, the manager and the caretaker are both trained in first
aid. It is recommended that the group leaders include a first
aider as well.
Can special diets be catered for?
Yes, with advance notice we can cater for vegetarians, food
allergies and halal requirements.
Can our group buy souvenirs?
Yes, we have a small shop, where we sell Hardelot postcards (and
stamps for the UK), pens and sports bottles. Fruit juice and
biscuits are also available.
Can we access the internet?
Yes, there is a computer for staff use, and we also have wi-fi
(in the house only). There is no internet access in the
classroom.
Is there an interactive whiteboard?
The classroom and conference rooms are equipped with a basic
whiteboard (a projector is available), and we encourage
learning outside the classroom whilst at Hardelot.
How can we book local activities?
Details of local visitor centres can be found on the
website, and a
pro-forma fax is downloadable if the group wishes to make their
own bookings. However, for a small charge we can also help to book
the activities for you.
