Before you go
Arrivals and departures
We ask that you arrive around 4pm, which gives us time to clean
the Centre after the previous group, get you settled in and have a
welcome talk before dinner at 6.30 pm.
However, if you need to arrive before this we can normally
accommodate an early arrival, although it may be necessary to leave
your luggage in a communal area until later in the day.
Please let us know if you do anticipate an early arrival.
Similarly, we ask you to vacate your rooms by 10am on the day of
departure, so that cleaning can be done effectively. If we do not
have a group immediately following you, you are welcome to use the
site facilities (including toilets) until your departure. However,
if there is an arrival on the day of your departure, this will not
be possible.
What we provide…
- Each bunk-bed has a duvet, mattress protector and pillow
- Bed linen (sheet, duvet cover and pillow-case) is provided and
each person is expected to make their own bed on arrival, and
unmake it on the day of departure
- The classroom is equipped with basic stationery and paper and
there is a projector and a laptop for classroom use. However,
Internet is only available in the house (we have a PC for group
leader's use and there is also a wi-fi connection)
- Equipment for the sports facilities on site is freely available
for use by the group (footballs, mini-nets, rackets, snooker cues,
boules, etc). Group leaders will be asked to sign a form to take
responsibility for the care and return of all equipment
- There is a safe in one of the teacher's rooms in the
accommodation, but we recommend that young people should be
discouraged from bringing expensive personal items - the Centre
cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage
- We have a limited range of DVDs (in French and English).
… and what you need to bring
- Towels are NOT provided and each person should bring at least
one towel, and all toiletries
- The Centre is fitted with French plugs, so adaptors are needed
for hair-dryers etc.
- A first aid kit, including insect repellent in the summer
- At least one mobile phone for the group leaders
- Wet weather gear and suitable outdoor shoes, as well as
slippers (as shoes must be removed in the accommodation block)
- Some euros as a contingency fund (if you need to go to a doctor
or chemist, they will require upfront payment)
- As coaches must be parked at the gate, all visitors must make
their way on foot from the gate to the accommodation (about 700
metres). It is therefore recommended that young people bring
suitcases fitted with wheels
- We cater for special diets (e.g. vegetarians) but not for
individual preferences, and it is a long way to the supermarket!
You may have to bring the Marmite with you!
