Tourist Attractions - Becoming a Learning Destination

Would you like to:

  • reward those children who visit your venue and participate?
  • encourage others and help raise aspirations of all children?
  • advertise to a wider audience and potentially increase footfall to your venue?
  • develop high-quality learning opportunities at your venue?

Then Kent Children’s University would like to invite your organisation to become one of our valued Learning Destinations. We work in partnership with schools and other organisations such as museums, galleries, zoos and sports clubs that provide opportunities for children after school and in the holidays and at weekends.

The scheme is part of Kent County Council and we are affiliated to the national children’s university which is funded by the Department for Education and the Sutton Trust.

Learning Destinations award children one credit for every hour of participation. Children collect their credits in Passports to Learning, and exchange them from nationally recognised certificates which reward those who “try there best.”

The awards are presented for 30, 65 and 100 hrs respectively.

By affiliating to Children’s University your venue will be part of a national organisation delivering excellent quality activities

You will potentially see an increase in footfall as the scheme is promoted to all schools in Kent. There are also 60 other CU’s across the UK, each of which promotes Learning Destinations as a UK-wide scheme. So far 100,000 passports have already been distributed!
