Our activities
meet many of the pledges set out in the KCC Study Support strategy
which builds on national guidance set out in
Study Support: a national framework for extending learning
opportunities (Department for Children, Schools
and Families, 2006).
Benefits for schools
- The school becomes a centre for the local community.
- School staff are paid to run workshops.
- Better Standard Attainment Test (SATs) scores for their
pupils.

adults.
- Less crime, vandalism and loitering.

- Improved knowledge about a particular subject.

- Increased acceptance that learning can be fun.

- Children with improved motivation to learn.
- The chance to learn with their children (in Family Learning
sessions or when visiting Learning Destinations).
- An opportunity for their children to try new topics to see if
they enjoy them without having to spend on equipment and
lessons.
- High quality education, with small pupil to tutor ratios for a
nominal charge, or even free.
