How to take part
So,
you've looked at what's on offer and decided you want to take part!
Follow the six easy steps below to become part of the scheme.
- Contact Kent Children's University and request a Passport
To Learning. Each Passport costs £3.50. We need your name,
address, date of birth, phone number or email address and the
name of the school you attend. This information is stored securely
on a password-protected database and will never be shared with
another organisations without your permission.
- When you receive your passport fill it in and remember to
keep it safe. If you lose it any credits you have already earned
will be lost. You must take care of it as though it was a real
passport.
- Use the Learning Destinations
website to decide which attractions you want to visit. Always
check with the venue that it will be open before you set off. Also
remember to see what clubs your school might offer that are
affiliated to the scheme. Remember that if you attend an affiliated
school many of the out-of-school-clubs it offers will earn you
credits also.
- On arrival show the staff your Learning Destinations
Passport and ask for the Learning Destinations activity booklet.
Follow the instructions it contains and learn exciting information
at the venue. Write your answers in the booklet
- When you have finished show your booklet to the staff at
the main entrance. They will check it and stamp your
passport.
- Visit other venues around the county until you have
completed thirty credits. Once you've earned your thirty credits
return the passport to Kent Children's University. We will then
send you a certificate to accredit your work. This goes to your
school. Your head teacher will present it to you in an
assembly.
