Support for school age parents
We want to make sure that any teenage parents in Kent up to
the age of 20 are offered the best support and advice to help them
get through what can be a confusing and stressful time. We do
not advise on choices surrounding the pregnancy itself, for
example, abortion or adoption. There are many independent
organisations and charities who can provide help and advice of this
kind.
If your daughter is under 16 and becomes pregnant, or your son
tells you that his school age girlfriend is pregnant, there are
several things you should do to make sure that the potential
parents get the help they need. These pages will offer you some
basic advice.
For more information and advice on services, please contact the
Young Parents Coordinator on 01622 696367 or by email: lauraine.wood@kent.gov.uk.
