Proposal to close Wilmington Enterprise College
Kent County Council is proposing to close Wilmington
Enterprise College on 31 August 2010. It is proposed
that a Government-funded Academy will be established in the
existing buildings on 1 September 2010.
The public consultation on the proposed closure of Wilmington
Enterprise College will end on 8 March 2010.

The public consultation document was published
on 25 January and will run for a period of 6 weeks
(until 8 March 2010) during which time anyone can
send in written comments or objections to:

At the end of the 6 week public notice period, Mrs Sarah Hohler,
Cabinet Member for Children Families and Education will consider
all written representations to the public notice and decide whether
or not the proposal to close the school should be
implemented. The closure will only take effect if agreement
by the Secretary of State for the establishment of an Academy has
been made by 31 August 2010.
