Positive for Youth – Towards 2013

Positive for Youth – Towards 2013

Last year we ran a youth services consultation.on plans to give local people and groups more involvement in running youth services. We listened to your views and your comments and suggestions have played an important part in KCC's countywide transformation programme for youth services.

As a result of local feedback, some of the initial proposals have been amended. The plans include a brand new youth centre for Deal, more youth workers in schools, and a commitment to continuing youth work in every district.

On 12 January 2012 Kent County Council’s Cabinet Member for
Customer & Communities, Mike Hill
pledged to increase the services on offer for young people through a new model of service delivery. This will combine services provided by Kent County Council and services commissioned through other providers including those from the voluntary sector.
