Funding and awards

Kent County Council understands that Further Education is important but can be difficult for some young people to access.  The Student Awards Group provides help for people who want to enrol on a college course but would find the cost or travel difficult.

If you are a 16 to 19 year old planning further study, or are already enrolled on a Further Education course, you may be entitled to assistance.

Home to college transport

You may be able to apply for travel assistance from Kent County Council to help you travel to and from your local college. Visit the home to college transport page for details.

Free school meals

If you are under 19 and in full-time education, you may be entitled to free school meals. Visit the free school meals page for details.

College Learner Support Funds

If you require money for books/equipment/field trips etc., then you must apply direct to the college where you intend to study and ask them what funding you could receive from their College Learner Support Funds.
