Volunteer to be an Award leader

The award. Take the Challenge

How to become an Award volunteer

There are lots of ways that you can get involved as a volunteer with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

Young people become involved in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award through a variety of Award groups and centres. Many schools, colleges and youth clubs offer the Award, as well as organisations such as the Cadet Forces, Scouts and Guides.

All Award groups need a leader and helpers to run the Award group and offer a range of activities to participants.

Volunteers are needed to instruct, supervise, mentor and assess young people in each of the four sections of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. They organise Award group sessions and manage the administration of the Award.

If you would like to become involved with an Award group, or to find out more about setting up a group, please contact us.
