As part of Kent's All Together Better project to
meet the additional educational needs of all Kent pupils, Kent has
undertaken a review of the future of its special school provision.
This wide-ranging and in-depth review aimed to ensure that Kent's
special school provision is better suited to meet current and
predicted trends of educational need. Throughout all the stages of
the review KCC took care to keep schools, organisations representing
parents, and other organisations informed and involved in the
process.
The review has moved into an implementation phase, with all of
Kent's special schools benefitting from new build and
refurbishment. Kent's £85 million capital programme represents a
significant investment in the education and care of pupils with
special educational needs.
