What is a statement of special educational needs?
|
A Statement is a legal document that describes your
child's special needs and sets out the type of support they need to
help them make progress in school or early years
setting.
It is written when a statutor assessment shows a child needs
one. Once the LA has signed the Statement and sent it to you, it
must make sure that your child receives the help set out in it. It
usually does this through an Annual Review process.
Attached to the Statement are all of the reports from the
professionals whose advice helped in the writing of the
Statement. |
