If I think my child needs some extra support, what can I
do?
|
You need to speak to the school or early years setting
where your child attends to discuss your concerns. They will be
able to tell you how your child is progressing and what support is
in place to help. If your child already has a Statement of Special
Educational Needs, you can ask for this matter to be discussed at
your child's Annual Review. If your child does not have a Statement
and you have talked to the school or early years setting and you
still feel that your child is not making enough progress, you can
ask the LA to carry out a statutory assessment of their special
educational needs. A statutory assessment is done where a child has
severe, complex and long-term
needs. |
