How do I choose a school and name it in the
statement?
|
Most children with a statement go to their nearest
mainstream school. The school uses the extra resources identified
in the statement to meet the child's needs. Children who have a
statement of special educational needs must be educated in
mainstream school if their parents want them to be, unless it would
interfere with the 'efficient education' of other children. It is
important that you ask for, and are given, all the information,
help and advice you need before making a decision about where you
would like your child to go to school.

help you - their helpline is 01622 755515.
Remember that you can take a friend, a relative or an
independent parental supporter with you when you visit a school or
