Can I teach my child myself?
|
Parents and carers can teach their child at home. If your
child has a Statement of Special Educational Needs, you should
speak to your Area AEN officer. The Authority has a duty to ensure
that your child's needs as set out in the Statement are being met
and may feel that a place in a school is the best place for your
child. If your child does not have a Statement you do not need
consent of the school or the Authority to teach your child at home.
However, if your child is on the roll of a school, you should make
the school aware of your intentions before taking your child away
from school. |
