Governors and school leadership
|
Governors are volunteers who work in partnership with
school headteachers to ensure that children receive the best
education possible. Governors represent the largest volunteer group
in the UK and are selected from a variety of backgrounds to reflect
the many interest groups within our schools. To find out more visit

Kent County Council provides leadership and support to
governors, governing bodies, and their clerks.
Training and development programmes are available throughout
the year on a wide range of governance issues.
Support, advice and guidance is offered through our helpline, by
telephone and email. Our Local Education Officers look after the
interests of governors in their work with geographically based
'Clusters' or groups of schools throughout the county. Visit
