KCC is developing its academies as models of innovation in teaching and individualised learning, providing stimulating and fit-for-purpose learning environments, exploiting use of ICT and positioning them at the centre of their communities to facilitate regeneration within their neighbourhoods, in partnership with other public and private agencies. Our intention is that all Kent schools will benefit from the fresh ideas and alternative ways of working we expect to flow from the Academies programme.

Our academies are instilling a pride in and love of learning, motivating students to aim high, become skilled and flexible learners so that they can become socially, emotionally and behaviourally confident citizens, employees and employers. The focus on vocational education provision in our academies, creating the mix of vocational and academic education that hitherto has been missing, provides the range of educational opportunities that these students need to make the most of their talents and abilities.
