Feedback and Monitoring
| Kent's academies programme is a long term strategy. It
will drive up the quality and standards of teaching and learning,
provide a huge investment in learning infrastructure and raise
parental confidence in some of Kent's most disadvantaged and
underachieving schools by focusing on putting the needs of the
learner first and meeting their needs effectively.
The latest national evidence from the fourth annual evaluation
into Academies by PricewaterhouseCoopers in July 2007 found:-
- attainment in Academies is improving at a faster rate than
comparable schools and the national average;
- a steady improvement in behaviour with a reduction in the
average number of exclusions;
- strong evidence that "all Academies are focused on raising
pupils' aspirations as a key driver to improvement";
- their strong leadership is a key factor in transforming
previously failing schools.
