Term
dates
Please note that schools need to
approve holidays during term time - approval of such requests
should not be taken for granted. The testing times for national
curriculum assessments (Key Stage One and Two) and GCSE / A Levels
and mock examinations also need to be taken into account - pupils
should not be absent during these tests.
Dates for these are not usually fixed
more than one year ahead.
Kent County Council has now determined
the term dates for the school years 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12
following consultation with schools, education forums, trade
unions, parents and governors' representatives.
The Local
Authority (LA) sets the term dates for all community, community
special and voluntary controlled schools. Governing bodies of
foundation and voluntary aided schools are responsible for setting
their own term dates. However, we hope all schools will continue to
work within this common calendar. These calendars all open in new
windows.
Staff Training
Days
Please note: Schools determine the
days when schools are closed for staff training days.
Parents/carers are therefore advised to confirm the actual term
dates with their child's/children's school(s).
