What we do
Within schools, we:
- train, support and advise "designated" teachers to support the
educational achievement of Looked After Children
- run projects to both raise and track the achievement of Looked
After Children
- participate in reviewing our schools performance on issues
relating to Looked After Children, e.g. attendance.
To make sure help is consistent and integrated, we work
with:
- Health and Social Services
- other Local Authorities.
We provide guidance and training on:
- matters regarding the education of Looked After Children
(e.g.overcoming barriers to academic achievement and success)
-
Personal Education Plans
- the "Working Together" initiative for Social Services staff and
Designated Teachers.
