Why do I need a licence?
Children taking part in entertainment performances must legally
be licensed under certain conditions. Please read our
children in entertainment pages and their accompanying
documents for more information.
How do I apply for a licence?
An application for a licence is made on a standard form, which
you can obtain from the Child Employment Team at the Local
Education Office, or you can download it from the following

Additional documentation will be required to support your
application.
Am I the right person to be making this application?
By law, the application for a licence must be made by the person
responsible for the production, e.g. the producer or director. The
licence will be issued to the applicant.
When should I apply?
You should make your application at least 21
days before the first day of performance.
These licensing requirements are to protect the child's health,
education and welfare. While a licence is in force the place of
performance may be visited by an inspecting officer from the LA,
who will want to make sure everything is in order. If it seems that
it would not be good for the child to continue performing the
licence may be withdrawn. |
