Student Loans Company
For the start of the 2005/2006 academic year, a new National
Student Support system was implemented, to be controlled and
provided by the Student Loans Company (also known as Student
Finance Direct) for the purpose of providing Student Support for
Higher Education.
Therefore, the Kent Student Awards Group would advise those
seeking information on Higher Education support to visit the

Department of Health (DoH) bursaries
The DoH are able to offer non-means tested and means tested
bursaries for those students studying a Higher Education course in
either occupational therapy, physiotherapy, radiography,
orthoptics, dental hygiene, dental therapy, midwifery (Diploma as
well), chiropody, dietetics, prosthetics and orthotics, and speech
and language therapy.
