Your County - Putting Kent First

Kent 4 star Council

Information

The H.E. Compact is made up of three parts (or strands). On completion of each strand, Swale students will be able to gain a total of up to 40 H.E. Compact points which are recognised by Kent-based universities as equivalent to up to 40 UCAS points.(Although universities outside Kent may not accept the H.E. Compact points as equivalent to UCAS points, completion of the H.E. Compact Programme will be seen as strongly supporting a UCAS application.)

As well as the opportunity to gain extra UCAS points, participating students have the opportunity to take part in additional activities such as:

  • a Graduate work-place shadowing scheme (to gain a wider understanding of graduate employment opportunities in Kent);
  • attendance at an annual Higher Education event, jointly delivered by the five Kent-based universities, where students can experience a lecture, a seminar, a university library tour and an opportunity to meet with and talk to current undergraduate students.

The aim of the H.E. Compact programme is to especially encourage and support those students who would be the first in their families to go to university.

More specific information on the H.E. Compact is available for students, their parents and their teachers.
