Higher Education Courses in Further Education
Colleges

There are seven Further Education (F.E.) colleges in Kent
which offer a range of Higher Education (H.E.) courses, mostly
validated by Kent-based universities:
- Foundation Degrees - Two - three year
full-time or part-time work-related courses such as construction,
bioscience, computing, health and social care, retail management
etc.
- Higher National Diplomas - Two year full-time
work-related courses such as information technology,
electrical/electronic engineering, beauty therapy sciences, tourism
management, computer-aided design etc.
- Higher National Certificates - Usually two
year part-time work-related courses for employees in areas such as
photography, construction management, commercial horticulture,
graphic design etc.
Advangates:
- Wide range of local courses linked to work-related areas,
- Courses are shorter, but most have the opportunity to progress
to the third/final year of BA or BSc Degree courses,
- Tuition Fees may be lower than those at a University.
