Higher Education Compact Programme

The Compact Programme is made up of
Three Strands and accredited by the
Open College Network South East Region
(OCNSER).
Strand One (Compulsory) -
Preparation to Higher Education Course.
Part of the course includes experience at one or more of the
Kent-based universities involved in the H.E. Compact partnership
agreement. Successful completion of the course will lead to:
20 H.E. Compact points/UCAS equivalent points
recognised by Kent-based universities*.
Strand Two (Optional): An opportunity to follow a
special interest in some depth - e.g. undertaking a very short Open
University course whilst still at school/college such as:
Beyond Google; Introducing Astronomy; Perspectives on Leonardo da
Vinci; Design and the Web; Start Writing Fiction which are part of
the Young Applicants
in Schools and Colleges Scheme (link opens in a new window).
Successful completion will lead to:
10 H.E. Compact points/UCAS equivalent points
recognised by Kent-based universities*.
Strand Three (Optional): Linked to personal skills
and activities that students may already be involved in such as
Duke of Edinburgh Award, Millennium Volunteers Award, Young
Enterprise Company Programme, Community Sports Leaders Award etc.
Successful completion will lead to:
up to 10 H.E. Compact points/UCAS equivalent
points recognised by Kent-based universities *
* Please Note: the Open
University does not require UCAS points for
