Help from your employer with childcare

Many employers now understand the value of supporting working parents with initiatives such as flexible working and childcare. At the Kent Children's Information Service we have been working with employers to make sure they have or are developing 'family friendly' working practices.

As a result, many employers are now offering childcare vouchers.

Childcare vouchers

It is now cost effective for employers to offer childcare vouchers to their working parents. Childcare vouchers up to £55 per week are exempt from National Insurance Contributions (NICs) for employers and from tax and NICs for each employee.

Savings of over £800 per year!

This means that employees can save over £800 per year if they are a basic taxpayer and over £1,000 per year for higher taxpayers. This can double if both parents have access to a childcare voucher scheme.

For more information about childcare vouchers you can visit the following websites. Each have information for employers and employees about the benefits of a childcare voucher scheme.
