To gain a place, you will need to satisfy all three of the following criteria:
  1. At least GCSE Grade C in both English Language and Maths.
  2. At least GCSE Grade B in any subject (except Maths) to be studied at A-Level or at International  Baccalaureate Higher Level. For Maths, at least GCSE Grade A.
  3. From your best six GCSE results, a total of at least 276 points according to the scale A*=58, A=52, B=46, C=40, D=34, E=28.
  4. You will also be expected to attend the Sixth Form induction course that takes place at the end of June or beginning of July.
  5. Applicants from other schools will be invited to visit the school individually for a discussion of their subject preferences.

Entry requirements for the Sixth Form:
  • At least a grade 5 or above in English and mathematics
  • You will require a B grade or 6 in most subjects you wish to study at A Level
  • To study mathematics, modern foreign languages or a science subject  you will require an A grade or a 7
  • For further mathematics you will need an 8 or a 9
  • The minimum requirement is 4 B grades and 2 others at a C grade or a 5 (short courses count as half a GCSE)
  • You will need a positive attitude in your chosen subjects and respect for school aims, objectives and ethos. Commitment to the expectations of the sixth form and your school community.
