Film clip 2 - wellbeing

Wellbeing activities promote general health and wellbeing within the community.

In our second innovation film (link opens in a new window), we see our 'innovation family' highlight the benefits of three different wellbeing initiatives - street cars, Explore Kent and Activmobs.

Street Car

In the first scene, the innovation family explore the benefits of Street Car. The initiative offers self-service cars for hire by the hour, day, week or month. The cars are parked in a specific location within the town.

Cars can be booked online or by phone and can be returned 24 hours a day, seven days a week with the use of a high-tech Smartcard and PIN. The charges are calculated by the length of time that you have the car for and how far you drive, you are then sent a bill each month.

Explore Kent

The second scene shows the innovation family using our Explore Kent website to help them decide what to do with their weekend.

Explore Kent is a website and magazine packed with articles on walking, cycling and riding in Kent. It also includes celebrity interviews, competitions and exciting features, as well as all of the latest news and activities in the Kent countryside.

Activmob

The third and final scene shows the grandparent of the family explaining that he has joined the local walking Activmob, so that once a week he can get outside and work up a bit of a sweat!

Activmobs are about making physical activity part of everyday life - they build on what people already do, or would like to do. Anyone can get together and form an Activmob with a group of friends, family or colleagues, as long as it involves well-being, i.e. running mob, walking mob, dancing mob, the mobs do not need to be activities that are traditionally called 'sports', so anybody can join in.
