Gateways

Gateways are providing the public with easy access to public services.

The Gateway offers a convenient public service access point in a retail-based location using the latest innovative technologies and strong partnerships working.

The focus is on shaping services to fit around customers and with a successful Gateway thriving in Ashford, the model is now being rolled out throughout Kent.

The Gateway core model is based on the following foundations:

  • Public internet access
  • Modern retail environments
  • Core professional services
  • Seven days a week access
  • Multi-agency
  • Web and digital based technology
  • Business centre
  • Neutral branding

Kent Film Office

The Kent Film Office (link opens in a new window) is helping the film and television industry find locations in Kent.

We are promoting the wide diversity of Kent's urban, industrial and countryside locations as major film and television venues. The office helps the film and television industry find locations in which to film in Kent.

Kent TV

An exciting new internet-based TV station - Kent TV - will be launched in September, revolutionising the way we communicate with the public.

The TV station, which will be available free on the internet at www.kenttv.com, will put the spotlight on Kent, boosting the county's profile locally and drawing in a national and worldwide audience.

Kent TV will offer innovative and relevant programmes to highlight the best that Kent has to offer and make it a community channel worth tuning in to.

Webcasting

Council meetings and other events are being webcast over the internet.

Webcasting enables events to be broadcast live to a wider audience or seen when and where it suits the individual.

Some of our council meetings are broadcast live on our website, giving people across the county the chance to see council decision-making in action.

Increasingly, webcasting will be used for greater engagement with customers.
