We are working with partners in an exciting initiative
with the first phase running until March 2008.
The 'Kent Year of Innovation' provides an umbrella under which a
variety of activities, initiatives and events are being organised
throughout the county. This ensures that good ideas are used again
throughout the county for the greater and wider benefit of all.
In particuar, the initiative aims to:
- raise the profile of Kent as a place of innovation and
creativity
- showcase individual and joint innovations
- maximise engagement in all innovative work while promoting and
encouraging this ethos across Kent
- involve and engage public and communities in innovative
activities
- increase funding and partnership opportunities
- act as a catalyst for change and future development
Innovations in KCC
We have produced two
catalogues of innovations that showcase the innovative ways in
which we are working to transform services for the people of
Kent.
Get involved
Everyone in Kent can get involved in some way. We hope that
individuals, businesses and other organisations across the county
will take part in a wide range of activities that celebrate
innovation.
We have set up a steering group to encourage involvement in the
Kent Year of Innovation. The group includes representatives from
local government, all Kent universities and colleges, Business Link
Kent, enterprise hubs, the voluntary sector and the chambers of
commerce.
