Your County - Putting Kent First

Kent 4 star Council

Black History Month

This year's Black History Month is taking place in October 2008.

To celebrate the contribution of Kent's Black and Minority Ethnic communities, around 60 events are being held across the county. Coordinated by Kent County Council and Kent Police, working in partnership with local black and minority ethnic community groups, all Kent residents are welcome to join in the activities.

There is something for everyone and events include:

  • concerts
  • talks
  • workshops
  • open days
  • celebrations for the Diamond Jubilee of the Queen's Gurkha Engineer

Activities will be held in Ashford, Canterbury, Dartford, Dover, Faversham, Gravesham, Maidstone, Margate, Paddock Wood, Sheerness, Sittingbourne and Tunbridge Wells.

For a full list of the events taking place see the Black History Month 2008 Programme of Events.
