Friday 4 April 2008

By the looks of the weekend weather forecast it looks like we are going to have to wait for a while before the better weather kicks in.

The long range forecast says this summer is going to be much better than last. Let's hope so. Last year's wet summer followed by a wet winter has resulted in an unusually high number of potholes.

It's no secret that as a keen motorist I'm a fan of four wheels but potholes are also a danger to those on two wheels, as well as pedestrians.

Kent Highway Services are pulling out all the stops to blitz the potholes on Kent's roads, aiming to repair as many potholes as possible in the next couple of months.

We need you to tell us where they are. There are three ways to report them, using the online report form (link opens in a new window), by email at kent.highwayservices@kent.gov.uk, or on the phone on 08458 247 800.

If you know about a pothole let the highways team know.

In June I'll be keen to know whether you think we are winning the war of the potholes.
