Democracy and elections

The Cabinet provides leadership and direction for the county council, setting policies and taking decisions that affect the people of Kent.

Committees meet regularly to make decisions on policy and budgetary matters for council services. We publish their agendas, reports and minutes online.

Overview and scrutiny committees investigate issues affecting Kent County Council.

The county council elections are held every four years. The last one was held on 5 May 2005. To be eligible to vote, you have to be on the electoral register.

Have your say about issues that affect your neighbourhood and get involved in your local community.

Young people can have their say in what goes in their neighbourhood.
