The Chief Executive's Department supports the work of the
directorates by providing specialist expertise. The department also
leads and co-ordinates major change and organisational
developments.
Under the guidance of Chief Executive
Peter Gilroy, the department is responsible for services that
include personnel and development, finance,
legal and democratic services, corporate policy and performance
management, public health, information technology, communications,
commercial services and partnership.
With the leading role on corporate issues, the department
negotiates with the government over Public Service Agreement
targets and expresses the council's voice through documents and
policies such as the
Vision for Kent (link opens in a new window),
Towards 2010 and the
Annual Plan.
The department's financial responsibilities, managed by County
Finance Director
Lynda McMullan, include external funding, financial management
and audit.
The department also works with the NHS to improve public health
in Kent. Meradin Peachey manages this and works with the Eastern
and Coastal Primary Care Trust and West Kent Primary Care
Trust. |
